Family Vacation | Walt Disney World

We are back from our family vacation to Walt Disney World. I can honestly say that yesterday when we checked out of our hotel we were READY to be home. We had a fabulous time and made a lot of wonderful memories with the girls and John’s sister and family, but it was oppressively humid in Orlando this year.

Like I said, this trip included John’s sister Sharon as well as her husband and two sons. The boys are both graduating from college this year, one from Texas A&M and the other from University of Texas. So that, in conjunction with Rebekah’s graduation was the reason for the trip. To celebrate the graduates.

We flew out of San Antonio and they flew out of El Paso and we all met in Orlando. This was Morgan’s first trip on an airplane, and it was a lot fun to watch her and hear her thoughts.  Once there, Disney’s Magical Express was there to get our bags, pick us up, and deliver us to our Disney resort and we were ready to hit the ground running.  Sharon and her family were delayed because of airplane problems so like a great brother, John said, let’s go without them!;-)We went to EPCOT and had dinner in Morocco at the Marakish restaurant.

I’m sure you don’t want to hear a blow by blow of our 8 day itinerary, but let me just say this.  If you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World, AAA does a great job, make sure you get the Disney Dining Plan, it is so worth it. We ate the most amazing food and we were NEVER hungry.  And DO NOT GO IN THE SUMMER!  Next time this family will be going in November or January.  We are also going to check into their Adventure Vacations too.

Yes, I took my big camera with me everywhere! On the rides too! I even carried the external flash and zoom lens. The first day I took a point and shoot, but it’s just not the same. Great for on the rides or pictures in close quarters, but you really need your SLR to take the amazing shots I got. And you need to be early to the parades for good seats.  Here are just a few of the 10 gigs of pictures I took this week.

Casey & Whitney | IKEA Engagement Session

This couple is the sweetest! The two of them go to our church and will be getting married in October.  Whitney is a photographer, so absolutely no pressure with the photos! Hah!!! But we had a great time at IKEA in Round Rock, thanks to the store manager for letting us wonder around taking pictures.

I know that Casey is especially anxious to see a sneak peek, so here is just a start.  I will be working on the rest over the course of the week…so stay tuned!

Baby Nate | Custom Artistic Collage

Baby Nate came for a photo session and although he wasn’t too thrilled with being put down by mom and watching her walk away, we did manage to get some really cute shots.  I was inspired to create this custom 10X20 collage.

Baby Allison is 9 Months | Baby’s First Year Package

One of my favorite babies came for a visit to our studio for her 9 month session. It was fun and work to keep up with this “little bean”.  She was all over the place, but we got some of the sweetest pictures.  Here is just a sneak peek.
